Originally known as East China College of Political Science and Law, the institution was renamed to East China University of Political Science and Law in 2007. It encompasses two campuses, Changning and Songjiang, with a total area of over 1300 acres. The Changning Campus, formerly known as St. John’s University, stands as a prestigious institution in modern Chinese history. The campus scenery is imbued with the style of a church school from that era, particularly the central Taofen Building, with its red brick four walls and large central courtyard, which has been featured in nearly every television series depicting modern universities. The university may not be open to the general public.
