The 5th of October Road

The 5th of October Road, formerly known as Sim Mong Street, originated from the now-demolished Sim Mong Wharf. This road became well-known due to the Hong Kong drama ‘Moonlight of the 5th of October’. It is a residential area for local Macau residents and one of the bustling streets in Macau. However, with the passage of time, many famous shops have closed down, including the once-popular Six Nations Tea House and Apricot Forest Village Distillery, which were shut down for various reasons, leaving a sense of regret. Fortunately, the current Luk Yung Kee Tong on the 5th of October Road is an old-style herbal tea shop in Macau and also the filming location for the final episode of the Korean drama ‘Palace’. There are many delicious restaurants along the road, which is quiet and narrow, with blue skies, white clouds, and swaying tree shadows, making it a more beautiful scenery line in Coloane. The road is open all year round, 24/7, with specific business hours subject to the day’s operations.
