7th Macao Lantern Festival and ‘Pioneer Moon’ Immersive Art Exhibition

Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn and National Day celebrations, the 7th Macao Lantern Festival, supported by the Macao Special Administrative Region Government Tourism Bureau and the Municipal Affairs Authority, and hosted by One Central Macau, is grandly held from today until October 31st. It collaborates with pioneering artist and designer Jason Naylor from Brooklyn, New York, to create the ‘Pioneer Moon’ immersive art exhibition. This is the first time that graffiti art and artificial intelligence technology (AI) are integrated within the context of a traditional Chinese festival. Four large-scale interactive art installations, making their debut in Macao, are exhibited both indoors at One Central Macau and along the waterfront promenade, offering guests a multisensory artistic experience through vision, hearing, and touch to feel ‘Mid-Autumn Full Moon’ interpreted by the overseas artist Naylor from a unique perspective. One Central Macau has partnered with the award-winning American artist and designer Jason Naylor, who has been inspired by traditional Chinese festivals to create four innovative inflatable art installations. Naylor’s works are known for promoting love and positive energy. This time, he has applied his signature colorful graffiti to the full moon, a symbol of reunion and good fortune, and paired it with a refreshing AI interactive experience, injecting vibrant colors and energy into the mall and waterfront promenade. The exhibition is open from September 12th to October 31st, with specific business hours subject to the day’s opening status.
