Sand Island is located between Banana Bay and Eluanbi, with a beach approximately 220 meters long
It is named for its accumulation of fine sand resembling an island
The sand is primarily composed of shell fragments, coral debris, and foraminifera, which have been deposited over the years
Due to the absence of streams carrying sand or impurities into the area, the content of shell sand exceeds 97%, making it the highest among all beaches in Kenting
With its beautiful shell sand, it is a paradise for photography and well worth a visit
The opening hours are from 08:00 to 17:00 all year round
Essential tips for visitors: 1
Sand Island has been designated as an ecological conservation area by Kenting National Park
Tourists are advised not to enter the fenced area within the conservation zone to avoid penalties
2
The beach adjacent to the conservation area is open to the public
Due to the abundance of rocks, caution is advised to prevent injuries from scrapes
