The name Pinan is in honor of the great leader of the Pinan tribe
The stream flows through Taitung City, Pinan Township, Yanping Township, Lu’ye Township, Guanshan Town, Haitian Township, and Chishang Township, before eventually merging into the Pacific Ocean
