The Wenchang Aerospace Science Popularization Center is located in Longlou Town, Wenchang City, Hainan Province, China. It is China’s coastal Wenchang aerospace science popularization center launch site and one of the few low-latitude launch sites in the world. This launch center can launch the Long March 5 series rockets and the Long March 7 carrier rockets. It mainly undertakes the launch tasks of spacecraft such as geosynchronous orbit satellites, large-mass polar orbit satellites, large-tonnage space stations and deep space exploration satellites. As a low-latitude coastal launch site, the Wenchang Space Launch Site can not only meet the new needs of China’s aerospace development, but also greatly reduce the consumption of rocket fuel by virtue of the relatively large linear velocity close to the equator and the centrifugal phenomenon brought by inertia (the carrying capacity of the same type of rocket can be increased by 10%). It can also solve the transportation problem of giant rockets by sea and improve the safety of debris falling.
Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 17:30.
Preferential policies: Children: Those who are 1.2 meters (inclusive) or below or under 6 years old (inclusive), free of charge with valid certificates such as ID cards or household registers; Those aged 6 (excluding) to 18 (inclusive), half price with their valid ID cards or household registers. The elderly: Those aged 70 (inclusive) or above, free of charge with their valid ID cards; Those aged 65 (inclusive) to 69 (inclusive), half price with their valid ID cards. Military personnel: Active-duty soldiers, disabled soldiers, veterans who participated in the war, and retired soldiers are free of charge with their relevant certificates. Retired cadres: Free of charge with their retirement certificates. Labor/heroic models: Provincial and ministerial-level and above labor models and heroic models are free of charge with their relevant certificates. Students: Full-time undergraduates (including students in school) and those with lower educational backgrounds, half price with their valid student ID cards. Disabled people: Disabled people (with disability certificate levels one and two, and one accompanying family member can be exempted), free of charge with valid disability certificates. Fire and armed police: Free of charge with relevant valid certificates. Spouses of active-duty soldiers/disabled soldiers/fire and armed police/veterans who participated in the war/retired soldiers: Half price with relevant valid certificates. Supplementary note: 1.
