Wuzhengling Village is characterized by its towering peaks and meandering clear springs. Over a thousand years ago, the ancestors of Wuzhengling Village chose to settle here. Due to geographical constraints, the entire village possesses only more than 1100 acres of steep mountainous land, which is not contiguous, and the tea plants are not cultivated in organized gardens. The saying ‘Entering the street from the street mouth, one sees only green mountains and no fields, using pine resin for lighting, and using chili peppers as salt’ accurately depicted the poverty and backwardness of Wuzhengling at the time.
In the 1960s, under the call of ‘Learn from Dazhai in Agriculture’, the people of Wuzhengling spent a decade constructing nearly a thousand acres of terraced tea gardens. After continuous reshaping and repair, over 800 acres of terraced land in the village have developed into a concentrated and contiguous tea garden, forming a unique high mountain stone terraced tea garden in the country, which is truly spectacular. The village is open all year round and is accessible 24/7.
