Yanqing Temple is located on Lingqiao Road in Haishu District, Ningbo City. The temple was originally built in the third year of Guangshun during the Later Zhou Dynasty of the Five Dynasties (953 AD), and was then known as Bao’en Hall. It was renamed to its current name in the third year of the Dazhong Xiangxiang era of the Northern Song Dynasty (1010 AD). It is the second among the Five Mountains of the preaching sect. The existing main buildings face south and include the Hall of the Heavenly Kings, the Main Hall, and the Rear Hall, covering an area of over five thousand square meters.
The first hall, the Hall of the Heavenly Kings, features double eaves and a hard mountain top with a dougong bracket system, five bays, and seven purlins in the central bay. The beams and columns are finely processed, and the existing structure is relatively intact.
