Nan Lei Yan Lake refers to the scenic area around Liang Hui Reservoir. Elegently known as ‘Yan Yan Lake,’ it is located 6 kilometers away from the city center. The lake area features the Yan Ming, Yan Qi, and Feng Xiang bridges, all of which contribute to the beautiful scenery. Adjacent to the lake are the Lei Mountains, where the Tang Dynasty scholar Xie Yichen once lived in seclusion.
Four kilometers to the east, one can find the Hua An Twin Waterfalls and the Long Hu Thatched Cottage, among other famous scenic spots.
Huang Lichuan, a prominent thinker and historian during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, also known as Nan Lei, is buried here. The lake is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
