Silver Beach is a coastal resort located in the southern part of Beihai, consisting of Silver Beach Park, Beach Park, and a variety of entertainment facilities. It boasts fine silver-white sandy beaches, and the sunset and twilight views are particularly beautiful, making it a famous spot for swimming and water sports. Silver Beach Park is more popular, hence most water sports are located here, while Beach Park is more suitable for leisurely strolls. The iconic structure of Beihai, the large steel globe sculpture, is also situated within.
What’s particularly special about this place is the beach itself; the sand is incredibly fine. Strolling on the beach almost leaves no footprints. Due to its high-quality quartz sand, the entire beach gleams silver under the sunlight, which is quite a sight, and that’s how it got its name ‘Silver Beach’. Interestingly, the beach is home to many small sand crabs that dig holes and roll sand balls, which are quite endearing. The beach is flat, with the tide receding quickly and rising slowly, making it an ideal place for seaside bathing and marine sports. For swimming, you should prepare your own swimwear and beach shoes, which can also be rented from nearby shops. The resort also offers paid entertainment options such as jet skis and beach buggies, and beach chairs for rent. If you have enough time, you can lie on the beach until the sun sets in the evening, which is very pleasant.
Silver Beach has strong ultraviolet radiation during the day, and sunrise and sunset are the recommended times to visit, especially the sunset view. It is suitable for sunrise photography and walking around 4-5 in the morning, and for sunset photography and swimming in the afternoon around 4-5. The light is soft during these times, and swimming is less likely to result in sunburn. If you wish to avoid crowds, it’s better to start early. The resort also has restaurants, mostly serving seafood barbecues, and many tourists also go to the nearby Qiaogang Style Street for food, which, in addition to seafood, offers a variety of Vietnamese cuisines. The entire area is open from 01/01 to 07/04 from 08:00 to 19:00; from 07/05 to 12/31 from 07:30 to 21:30. Child stroller rental services are available at the visitor center.
