Blossom Seashore Ecological Park is located on the west side of Zhujing Town, Jinshan District, Shanghai, adjacent to the picturesque Xiuzhou Pond in the north. The scenic area is composed of a sea of flowers, a plum garden, a cherry blossom garden, and an autumn scenery garden, integrating science popularization, exhibition, and sightseeing into a flower appreciation theme park. The plum garden is made up of three distinctive smaller gardens: Meixi Fragrance Ridge, Meiying Winding Path, and Mei Palace Plum Exploration. The park is equipped with more than ten spots for admiring plum blossoms from a height, such as Sparse Shadow Slope, Condensed Fragrance Terrace, and Misty Rain Pavilion. Additionally, the park features characteristic small bridges, winding garden paths, densely covered lawn areas on the islands, and meandering Meixi Stream. The park boasts a rich variety of plum blossom species, including five major categories: Gongfen, Zhusha, Lv’e, Jiangmei, and Beauty Plum, with more than 3000 trees of over 60 early, mid, and late varieties, predominantly in white, pink, and red flower colors. The blooming period is from mid-February to mid-to-late March. The cherry blossom garden consists of Cherry Blossom Marsh, Begonia Bay, and Magnolia Beach. Mountain cherry, early cherry, late cherry, begonia, beauty plum, and Erqiao magnolia compete to be the masters of the islands, with winding and varying heights of garden paths connecting nine islands, streams around the islands, water rippling with flowers, and gentle whispers. From an aerial view, it resembles colorful butterfly wings, ready to take flight. The blooming period is from mid-March to mid-to-late April. The sea of flowers is composed of 19 petal-shaped small islands, Flower Fairy Ridge, Flower Full Slope, Flower Dance, Flower Reflection Path, and Flower Sleeve. In spring, the sea of flowers mainly features over 30 varieties of flowers such as corn poppy, centaury, dwarf snowball, tall snowball, schizanthus, lupine, gypsophila, and starflower, with the viewing period from mid-April to mid-May. In autumn, there are more than 10 varieties of flowers such as cosmos (Persian chrysanthemum, sulfur cosmos), Artemisia scoparia, Mexican sage, zinnia, common cockscomb, sunflower, and others, with the viewing period from late September to mid-October. The autumn scenery garden is composed of Maple Forest Path, Maple Leaf Island, Starry Sky Lawn, Knight Amusement Park, and Autumn Maple Pavilion. The garden has more than 20 varieties of autumn foliage trees, such as various cultivars of Japanese maple, Norway maple, American red maple, flower-leafed maple, paperbark maple, Chinese varnish tree, Chinese tallow tree, yellow hornbeam, Euonymus, maple fragrance, yellow smoke tree, persimmon, Chinese catalpa, and large-leaf oak, as well as a large number of osmanthus and ornamental grasses. The viewing period is from mid-November to mid-to-late December. In addition to its beautiful scenery, Blossom Seashore Ecological Park also offers a variety of rich experience projects for tourists’ leisure and entertainment. Opening hours are from January 1st to September 27th, 08:00-17:00; from September 28th to October 16th, 08:00-20:30; from October 17th to December 31st, 08:00-17:00.
