Century Park is located at the southeast end of Century Avenue in Pudong, and it is one of the larger natural ecological parks within the urban area of Shanghai. The park is divided into several distinct areas including the Local Pasture Area, Lakeside Area, Sparse Forest Lawn Area, Bird Protection Area, and Exotic Garden Area, all of which boast a healthy ecological environment, making it an excellent place to relax and enjoy leisure time within the city. The park features the Mirror Sky Lake, which is one of the largest artificial lakes in the Shanghai area with a diameter of approximately 300 meters. Additionally, the Zhangjiabang River flows through the park, creating a network of waterways that contribute to the ecological diversity. As a gentle breeze blows, one can stand on the Cloud Sail Bridge by the water or on a viewing platform to experience the rare sight of rippling waves in the city. The park offers fishing and boating services by the lake, providing an entertaining option for both body and mind. The Bird Protection Area is home to dozens of bird species, and the park also has dozens of specially trained grey magpies that chirp and play among the trees and lakes, presenting a vivid display of wild nature. There are many areas and attractions within the park that focus on vegetation. The Oriental Pearl Bonsai Garden in the northeast has over 160 unique bonsai trees with high ornamental value. In the Sparse Forest Area, there are four distinct gardens for spring, summer, autumn, and winter, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful flowers of each season. A representative attraction is the Century Flower Clock located in the northern part of Mirror Sky Lake, which is a symbolic landmark within the park. The flower clock is surrounded by clusters of flowers, uses boxwood as time markers, and has a central dial adorned with yellow flowers, creating a vibrant and colorful display. Moreover, the flower clock is not just for decoration; it has a real-time function controlled by satellite instruments with an error margin of less than 0.03 seconds, which is quite fascinating. Among these gardens and vegetation, there are several plant-based sculptures such as the Green Maze, Plant Camel, and Plant Peacock, as well as characteristic sculptures like the Green World and Olmec Folk Sculpture. These sculptures are scattered throughout the green jungle, creating a tranquil and serene natural ecological environment that contrasts sharply with the bustling city around it, making the park even more vibrant. The northern part of the park is home to Century Park Amusement Park, which offers a variety of children’s entertainment options such as bumper cars, sky walks, and raft rides, making it a paradise for children. The southern part of the amusement park features the Lawn Pigeon attraction, where buying a bag of pigeon feed to interact with the pigeons is quite interesting. To the west of the amusement park is the Musical Fountain Scenic Area, equipped with 208 water jets and over 600 colored lights, allowing visitors to witness the elegant and romantic spectacle of water columns dancing to music.
