The Chiayi Shrine is located in today’s Chiayi Park in Chiayi City, Taiwan. Its shrine rank is a national currency minor shrine. After Taiwan’s recovery, the main hall of the shrine was changed into a martyrs’ shrine. On April 24, 1994, it was completely destroyed by fire. The original site was rebuilt into the Sun-Shooting Tower in 1998. Its affiliated hall was designated as a municipal-level historic site in Chiayi City in 1998. The scope of the historic site includes the fasting hall, shrine office, hand-washing pavilion, gathering place, shrine carriage depot, as well as the approach path and stone lanterns and Korean dog stone carvings on both sides of the approach path. The fasting hall and shrine office buildings were renovated and opened on January 5, 2001, and named the ‘Chiayi City Historical Site Archives’.
