Ciyun Temple, originally known as Alishan Temple, was established in 1919 by the Japanese who were deeply moved by the spiritual beauty of the landscape and decided to build a Buddhist temple here
It is also an excellent spot to view the sea of clouds and sunset glow
The temple enshrines a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni, a millennium-old Buddha statue made of copper with a core of gold sand, which was a gift from the King of Thailand to the Emperor of Japan in 1918
Ciyun Temple is one of the places in Alishan to appreciate the sea of clouds, sunset, and sunsets
From here, one can also overlook the Alishan settlement and Ta Mountain
This location is also the trail leading from Ciyun Temple to Shenben
Strolling here in the evening, if you happen to catch the afterglow of the setting sun, the golden sea of clouds and dancing waves are a sight to behold
Do not miss the tall and handsome Taiwan cedar next to Ciyun Temple
Among the trees in Taiwan, it is the only genus and species named after Taiwan, making it a unique and precious specialty of Taiwan
