Duration: 1 day. Time: July. Per capita cost: 300 yuan. With whom: Parent-child. Ways to play: Self-driving, weekend trip. The author visited these places: Shanghai. Published on July 17, 2020 at 06:47. This year’s rain is really pattering on and on without end. There is almost no time when it clears up. The plum rain season in the south of the Yangtze River always coincides with children’s summer vacation. Especially this year, when it’s not even out of the plum rain season but already in the dog days, it really worries old mothers with children at home. Every day I am researching where to take my child to play during the holidays. I decided to come to the flagship store of Shanghai Baoyan Paradise to play for a day. This may be the first super-combination parent-child paradise in Shanghai that simultaneously has a cute pet paradise + slide paradise + naughty castle paradise + dynamic VR paradise + building block paradise + parent-child restaurant + amusement park + constant temperature water park + outdoor experience paradise. It has an area of more than 20,000 square meters. Paradise address: The flagship store is located at No. 11, Lane 3825, Dushi Road, Minhang District, Shanghai. Of course, there are many branches. You can bring your little friends to play together. Holidays can be a good place for children to gather. Ticket business information: Currently during the summer vacation (July and August), the operating hours of the paradise are from 9:30 to 20:30. The opening hours of the water park and cute pet paradise are from 11:00 to 18:00. The market price of the flagship store of Baoyan Paradise is 399 yuan for one adult and one child. There is a parking lot. The first 4 hours are free. After that, it is 6 yuan per hour. 1. Those aged 18 and above are considered ‘adults’, and those under 18 are considered ‘children’. 2. With valid documents and accompanied by an adult, a ‘second child’ under 1 year old can enter the park for free. 3. Considering personal safety, pregnant women and those over 60 years old are not recommended to enter the park. 4. An adult accompanying ticket costs 100 yuan. I think it’s really humanized not to calculate adults and children by height. After all, who isn’t a baby? Eighteen years old are all minors, so of course they are children. Precautions: 1. A wristband will be tied when entering the door, and you can enter and exit the park multiple times. 2. Whether it’s an adult or a child playing on the slide, be sure to wear anti-slip stockings, long sleeves, and long pants to prevent abrasions. 3. Not only on the slides, but in other areas, such as the naughty castle, you also need to take off your shoes and wear socks to enter. Wearing socks is more hygienic. 4. The water park is constant temperature all year round. So as long as physical conditions permit, you can play at any time. Don’t forget to bring swimsuits, swimming goggles, and swimming caps. The paradise provides slippers in various sizes. There is a parent-child changing room where the whole family can change clothes together. Tour route: Cute pet paradise – slide paradise – dynamic VR paradise – parent-child restaurant – naughty castle paradise – building block paradise – amusement park – constant temperature water park – outdoor experience paradise. Personally, I think you should go to the cute pet paradise first. It is outside the large park on the first floor and sold separately.
Upon entering, wash your hands, put on gloves to maintain cleanliness and safety, allowing you to touch and feed small animals. The star animals are, of course, the alpacas. Rest assured, the alpacas here are very well-behaved and won’t spit, so feel free to feed them boldly. Small bunnies and squirrels are the favorites of children. A row of bunnies sticking their heads out waiting for my girl to pet them, mainly aiming for food, are all quite clean and odorless. There are reptiles like lizards, fish, and the overall environment resembles a tropical rainforest. The area is quite extensive, and if your child is particularly fond of small animals, they won’t want to leave in less than two hours. There’s even a separate bird area with bird feed. This place is quite comprehensive in terms of pets, including meerkats, marmots, and hedgehogs. Hamsters are small enough to hold and feed while wearing gloves. There are even ferrets! The slide park and the dynamic VR park are both on the first floor. Slides are Baoyan’s main attraction, so they must be distinctive. There are many places to store items, so you can play with peace of mind. You must take off your shoes when entering and wear long sleeves and long pants, otherwise, you cannot play because of the speed and risk of abrasions for safety. The 90-degree devil slide can test your courage. I really see my legs trembling at this angle, but there are brave children who go up and play it three times in a row, truly brave warriors! To play this slide, you need to wear a specially made costume, which is very cute and soft. There are staff members around to guide you, so don’t worry about not knowing how to play. The 45-degree slide is played by more children, with ocean balls cushioning below. There is also a rainbow slide with a girl’s heart, you can try sliding down side by side with a few friends, which is very spectacular. Of course, in addition to slides, there are exploration areas similar to the path of the brave, so children who are a bit scared of slides can also find their own world. On the first floor, there are 5D, 7D, and 9D VR cinema experiences. The films in the morning and afternoon are different, so remember to check the time and watch more times. I feel like the ticket price is worth it, after all, a VR game outside is about 50 yuan per experience. After the first floor, take the elevator to the second floor. The storage box can be opened repeatedly, so it’s best to leave it on the first floor. The mischievous castle park + building block park + parent-child restaurant + amusement park. Before playing in the mischievous castle, you can have lunch first. There is a parent-child restaurant on the second floor with sofa seats, mainly Western fast food, and there are also drinks for sale. The price is quite reasonable, and the quantity is large. I ordered salt and pepper chicken, fried fish, fries, chicken wings, and bolognese pasta. I personally recommend the salt and pepper chicken, which is better than various online popular stores outside.
On the first floor, you can also dine at the Seafood Workshop. There is a nursery for rest. A baking class is available, and a birthday room where you can celebrate special occasions. What might surprise many mothers is the presence of a nail salon, where one can leave the children to play in the mischievous castle while enjoying a manicure. For older children with a strong sense of self-protection, it’s completely safe. The ocean ball pit in the castle is several layers thick, enough to bury someone, and shoes must be removed before entering. There are lockers available, and a sand painting activity near the lockers. Here’s a panoramic view. There are slides, climbing walls, hammocks, swings, and the safety is excellent, making it a place suitable for older children to play independently. It’s a great way to pass the time, and I’ve noticed that ocean balls have a mysterious appeal to children; no matter their age, they dive right in and disappear from sight. A group of people go rock climbing. Slides and trampolines are also fun. The block park here is very popular too, engaging both hands and minds in building and creating. The bumper cars in the Joyful Arcade are worth a recommendation, with free trial periods that can accommodate multiple children at once – the more, the merrier. There are many fun places to explore, so take your time. The water park on the 3rd and 4th floors is temperature-controlled all year round, so it’s not just for summer vacations; you can come anytime you have time and let the children释放 their natural love for water. Swimsuits are available for purchase, so no worries if you forget to bring one. The changing rooms are divided into male, female, and family types, with family changing rooms being separate small rooms, suitable for mothers with young boys, which is a very thoughtful touch. For those who like excitement, there are water slides that offer thrilling adventures! Sliding down splashes a large amount of water, and it’s a favorite spot for both adults and children, with a rhythm that’s hard to stop. My child couldn’t resist the temptation and climbed up to play on the high platform. Perhaps because it’s indoors, children become braver, probably feeling a sense of security. After having fun here, there are also plenty of water play areas nearby, with gentle slides, fountains, seesaws, and more suitable for younger children. There’s even a separate pool with very shallow water, perfect for beginners to learn swimming. When tired, one can relax in the jacuzzi. Finally, there’s the outdoor experience park. Walking here feels like returning to the Jurassic World. There are projects like pirate ships, daring adventures in the Jurassic, and paths for the brave that are relatively thrilling. There are also carousels and small trains suitable for little girls and younger children. On good weather days, you can also go grass sliding! A new area has been opened here where you can feed and walk horses. The horses are purebred, small in size, and very gentle. It’s recommended for children trying for the first time.
Spending a day at Baoyan Paradise is really extremely enjoyable. Not to mention children, I also had a great time. I plan to come again when I have time. I envy the residents living nearby. Just for the cute pet paradise alone, I want to come every day.
