Fanyin Cave

Fanyin Cave is located on the east side of Putuo Mountain. Among the numerous caves and gullies on Putuo Mountain, Fanyin Cave has a majestic momentum. Like Chaoyin Cave opposite the Guanyin Courtyard That Refuses to Leave, it is a place on the island suitable for listening to the sound of the sea tide. In addition, within the scenic area of Fanyin Cave, there are also scenic spots such as Shancai Cave and Ancient Buddha Cave. Compared with other scenic areas on Putuo Mountain, Fanyin Cave can be regarded as a relatively quiet place. Although the incense is not so prosperous, looking at the sea and listening to the tide instead gives a sense of openness and tranquility of a Buddhist place. There is a Zhansheng Pavilion on Fanyin Cave. You can view the sea in front and look at the cave behind. It is the place with the best scenery of Fanyin Cave. The cave is deep and secluded. Under the action of sunlight and sea tide, the rocks in the cave show various strange shapes and are unpredictable. The sound of the sea tide hitting the cliff is like the roar of a dragon and a tiger. One of the twelve scenic spots of Putuo, ‘Tianmen Qingfan’ refers to the beautiful scenery of Fanyin Cave. Coming out of Fanyin Cave and walking along the path will lead to Shancai Cave. Shancai Cave is naturally formed by several huge rocks, forming a very small cave. The entrance of the cave is also blocked by huge rocks. It is said to be the place where the boy Shancai once lived when he visited the Bodhisattva. Many tourists take out a stack of hundred-yuan bills and wipe them from right to left along the rocks at the entrance of the cave. It is said that it can bring wealth to the family. Opening hours: Open from 6:00 to 18:00 all year round.
