Ganquan Temple, also known as Shiguanyin Temple, was established during the tenth year of the Xianfeng Emperor’s reign in the Qing Dynasty. In the thirteenth year of the Guangxu Emperor’s reign, devotees reported that the divine indicated that the spring water at the site where the Stone Guanyin was discovered could cure all kinds of diseases. Consequently, the temple was renamed to ‘Ganquan Temple’, and the spring was called ‘Guanyin Spring’. The temple has undergone several construction processes. Today, the Ganquan Well is located in the park to the left of the temple, with clear and sweet spring water. Many believers come specifically to seek the spring water, and those who seek the spring water must obtain permission from Guanyin Buddha through divination using yarrow stalks. The temple is open all year round from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
