Golden Bauhinia Square

Golden Bauhinia Square is located next to the Wan Chai Convention and Exhibition Center. On the square stands a bronze statue of the Golden Bauhinia flower set up to commemorate the return. Here, one can watch the solemn flag-raising ceremony. The square is surrounded on three sides by Victoria Harbour and faces Tsim Sha Tsui on the opposite bank across the sea. Golden Bauhinia Square is very small. Most tourists come here for the commemorative statue of the return. This 6-meter-high bronze statue is called ‘The Bauhinia that Blooms Forever’ in full, implying prosperity. At a corner of the square also stands a 20-meter-high monument, echoing the bronze statue of the Golden Bauhinia from afar. The flag-raising and lowering ceremony is a major attraction of Golden Bauhinia Square. The chief executive of the special administrative region will lead the main officials to attend. At that time, the helicopter formation of the flight service team will fly low over the square, and the fireboat will also perform a water spraying show. At such times, a large number of citizens and tourists will come to watch around the square. Opening hours: open all day all year round.
