Hainan Provincial Library

The Hainan Provincial Library is located in the Cultural Park on Guoxing Avenue, Haikou City, Hainan Province. It has a quiet environment. Construction began on December 13, 2003. It has a five-story frame and a building area of 28,000 square meters. It was officially inaugurated on February 2, 2007. It is a relatively young provincial public library in China and an important public cultural facility in Hainan Province. It was officially opened to the public on October 28, 2007.

It has departments such as the Office, Business Management Department, Acquisition and Cataloging Department, Lending and Collection Department, Network Department, Local Literature and Ancient Books Department, Children’s Department, Hainan Branch Center of the National Cultural Information Resources Sharing Project, Hainan Ancient Books Protection Center, Hainan Library Association, and Hainan Library Joint Cataloging Center.

It has opened reader service areas such as the general service area, social science book area, comprehensive book area, newspaper and periodical area, local literature area, children’s public electronic reading room, public electronic reading room, government information public inquiry center, visually impaired reading room, children’s scene experience area, children’s art training activity room, computer classroom, 24-hour self-service book return area, and 24-hour self-service library. The reading area is 14,000 square meters.
