Hengsha Island is located in the northeastern part of Baoshan District, at the eastern end of the Yangtze River estuary in Shanghai. It is one of the three islands under the jurisdiction of Chongming County, known for its petite size. The island is positioned as a ‘Leisure and Vacation Island’, primarily focusing on developing international conference and exhibition centers, international entertainment centers, low-density comfortable residential villa areas, and yacht clubs. In 1992, Hengsha Island was listed as one of the first 13 tourist resorts. The entire island covers an area of 52 square kilometers, characterized by its lush forests and intricate waterways. It is acclaimed as a ‘Shanghai countryside park with clear skies, water, air, and sounds’, and has been awarded titles such as ‘National Beautiful Environment Township’ and ‘National Civilized Township’. The proportion of centenarians on the island is four times the United Nations standard, making it known as the island of longevity in China. This is an excellent place for leisure and vacation. In spring, you can gather friends on the villa balcony to enjoy tea leisurely, breathe in the air mixed with the fragrance of grass, and fish by the railing; in summer, you can enjoy the natural sunbathing on the beach, or walk on the beach with the sea water, dancing with friends; in autumn, you can pick large and sweet citrus fruits in the citrus garden, enjoy the joy of harvest, and fly kites with friends, watch the sunrise, and send off the sunset; in winter, it is open all year round and open all day.
