The Ding Ding Tram is an integral part of the bustling streets of Hong Kong and is also the only double-decker tram in the world. The trams travel along the thriving commercial centers of Hong Kong, passing through Sai Ying Pun, Sheung Wan, Central, Wan Chai, Tai Koo, Shau Kei Wan, and the coastal areas of Victoria Harbour. This antique mode of transportation unique to Hong Kong Island is actually a tram, famous for the ‘ding ding, ding ding’ sound it makes when the driver presses the foot pedal, hence the name Ding Ding Tram. The trams currently operate on six partially overlapping routes connecting Kennedy Town to Shau Kei Wan, with trams arriving at stations every 1 minute and 30 seconds on average. The six main routes are as follows: 1. Shau Kei Wan to Sheung Wan Market (special peak-hour trips between Shau Kei Wan and Kennedy Town from Monday to Friday); 2. Shau Kei Wan to Happy Valley; 3. North Point to Stonecutters Island; 4. Happy Valley to Kennedy Town; 5. Causeway Bay to Kennedy Town; 6. Sheung Wan Market to Kennedy Town (only serves during peak hours from Monday to Friday).
