Huang Fuchu’s Former Residence, also known as the Wen Zhi Library Building, is a historical building from the Republic of China era, located at the foot of Mount Mogan. Established in 1932 and designed by a German architect, it is now a provincial cultural heritage site. It has served as the filming location for the TV drama ‘The Soul of Chess’ and the starring role of Huang Zongze in ‘I Know Your Secret’.
Huang Fuchu, the owner, was a sworn brother of Chiang Kai-shek and one of the influential figures of the Republic of China era. After retiring from politics, he secluded himself in Mount Mogan and devoted himself to rural education and improvement endeavors.
Architecture is the melody of an era; each building embodies the dreams and hopes of its builders, carries the emotions of people’s joys and sorrows, and bears witness to the grand narrative of history. At the Wen Zhi Library Building, one can appreciate the unique beauty of Mount Mogan, and we look forward to your emotional connection during your journey in Mount Mogan.
The building is open to the public all year round from 08:30 to 19:30.
