Jinhu Water Forest Scenic Area is located in Tugou Town, Jinhu County, adjacent to Baoying Lake in the north. It is like a splendid and colorful gemstone embedded by the side of Gaoyou Lake, living up to its reputation as the ‘Kingdom of Metasequoia, Paradise for Birds, and Natural Oxygen Bar’. It is a large forest tourism area that integrates sightseeing, leisure vacation, and pastoral cultural creation.
The vegetation of Jinhu Water Forest Scenic Area is dominated by large areas of Metasequoia forest, along with golden willows and ginkgo, with numerous waterways passing through the forest. Many wild birds make their homes here, with egrets occasionally flying over the treetops. Every April, the orchids and rapeseed flowers under the Metasequoia forest bloom, creating a beautiful sight.
In addition, a viewing platform over 20 meters high has been constructed at the core of the forest. From this vantage point, one can overlook the entire forest. Another highlight of the scenic area is the bamboo rafting on the water, which attracts a large number of tourists with its unique Jiangnan water town charm and the mood of indulging in the mountains and waters. As you sit on a specially made bamboo raft and drift with the current, you can immerse yourself in the mountains and waters, temporarily forgetting the hustle and bustle of the city and deeply feeling the magical charm of nature.
The scenic area is open all year round from 08:30 to 16:00. For preferential policies: 1) Children under 1.2 meters are free, those between 1.2 and 1.4 meters enjoy half-price tickets, seniors over 60 years old with valid identification receive half-price tickets, and those over 70 years old with valid identification are exempt from the main entrance ticket.
