The Kong Lingjing Memorial Hall is located in Lingshui Residence, Xizha, Wuzhen. The exhibition hall showcases Kong Lingjing’s literary journey, revolutionary journey, as well as various books he compiled and items he used during his lifetime. Kong Lingjing is a modern writer and the younger brother of Kong Dezhi, Mao Dun’s wife. He was born in Wuzhen in 1904 and graduated from the Chinese Literature Department of Shanghai University. In 1940, he founded Huaguang Drama School, cultivating a number of film and drama talents. After the founding of New China, Kong Lingjing served as the principal of Shanghai Dagong Vocational School, professor of the Chinese Department of Shandong Qilu University, and chief editor of Chunming Bookstore. Kong Lingjing is a member of the China Association for Promoting Democracy. He was persecuted during the ‘Cultural Revolution’ and passed away on September 18, 1972.
