Lingqiangshi Island, also known as Dachan Reef, is located in the northwest of Hainan Island. It encompasses Lingqiangshi Island and its surrounding waters, covering an area of 131 hectares. The primary focus of protection is the coral reefs and ecological environment around Lingqiangshi Island and its nearby coastal waters.
Lingqiangshi Island itself is a coral island composed of corals, shell sands, and various corals, shells, beach cliffs, and secondary coral reef gravels. It is situated at the northern edge of the coral reef distribution area and serves as an important base for studying the distribution of coral reefs in the Beibu Gulf and the South China Sea, as well as the history of coral reef development, biological composition, and changes.
