The Lin Benyuan Garden Residence covers a vast area, which can be divided into two parts: ‘Garden’ and ‘Residence’. The ‘Garden’, also known as ‘Banqiao Lin’s Garden’, refers to the garden area outside the living quarters, which includes various pavilions and man-made landscapes such as the Qing Pavilion, Moonwave Pavilion, and Dingjing Hall. The ‘Residence’ refers to the living quarters of the Lin Benyuan family, which is the three-section house on the west side of the garden. Currently, the three-section house is still owned by the ‘Lin Family Ancestral Hall Association’ and requires a guide to enter. The garden is open all year round from 09:00 to 17:00, closed on the first Monday of each month (except when it coincides with a statutory holiday, in which case it will be closed the next day), Lunar New Year’s Eve, the first day of the Lunar New Year, government-announced days off due to natural disasters, and other necessary closing days will be announced separately. The garden will be closed on January 3, January 31 (New Year’s Eve), February 1 (New Year’s Day), February 7, March 7, April 6, May 3, June 6, July 4, August 1, September 5, October 3, November 7, December 5. The actual business status will be determined by the daily opening conditions. Important tips: The Lin Family Mansion is still private property. During the red letter times each day, visitors are led in by tour guides. Those who wish to visit should collect a tour pass from the service desk and gather at the archway next to the three-section house 10 minutes before the tour begins. For other times, tours are freely available, please gather at the square pavilion according to the garden’s broadcast.
