Longhaitian Beach

Longhaitian is a realm of the dragon. Longhaitian Tourism Area is one of the few coastal tourist destinations in China. The tourism area features lush and undulating forest belts, akin to a ‘green great wall’. In the summer, people can camp, relax, and vacation there to escape the heat, which is an indescribable pleasure.

Longhaitian’s sunrise spectacle is incredibly magnificent. Longhaitian is located to the east of the South Pacific, with a seamless blend of sea and sky. ‘The water surface is shimmering with golden sunlight, joyfully leaping in layers of waves’ (Tagore). That peculiar scene will make you daydream, as if you have entered a dreamlike world.

The cliffs of Longhaitian are long and sandy, with sea sand of moderate fineness. The seabed has a gentle slope, and the seawater is so clear that it is pollution-free and objects can still be seen at a depth of 8 meters. For 80% of the year, the southeast wind blows towards the coast. The wind is light and the waves are gentle, with seven or eight layers. Dongdao Island, the fifth largest island in China, is located to the east of Longhaitian, and Longhaitian Beach stretches for 28 kilometers, with a width of 150-300 meters, second only to Australia’s Gold Coast.

The entire text is open all year round from 7:30 to 19:30. Must-see tips: When mentioning Longhaitian, it refers to a direct express bus. Buses heading southeast are passing through; make sure to ask if they are actually going to Dongdao Island, as some do not go there.
