Longwan Lake National Forest Park, not far from Shiwei Rock, is a newly developed scenic spot along the Nanxi River. It features lush forests, beautiful waterfalls, and deep pools. If you are looking for a less known, less crowded, yet truly worth-visiting place to connect with nature, Longwan Lake is an excellent choice. The main attractions are a series of large and small waterfalls formed by a meandering stream in the mountains.

After entering the park, you will walk on a water汀 step path and start to tour along the stream-side trail. You will encounter the Yinchuan Waterfall, where the water flows to form a “Chuan” character, the Lianhua Waterfall under the suspension bridge, the Zheshan Waterfall, and the Dongzhong Waterfall that bursts out from the rock crevices, among others. These waterfalls have various shapes and are particularly refreshing in the summer. During your waterfall exploration, you can also see rocks shaped like a golden turtle playing in the water, a panda enjoying the moon, and a one-finger Guanyin, each with unique shapes.
When you reach the rock formation known as ‘Eagle Spreading Wings,’ directly in front of you is the last cascade of the seven-tier Longwan Lake Waterfall, with the Longtan Lake water being emerald green and clear, representing the essence of the scenic area. Further up the road, there is a small viewing platform that overlooks the entire seven-tier waterfall. The 80-meter-long water flow is divided into seven levels, each consisting of a waterfall and a pool, stacked one upon the other, becoming even more spectacular after heavy rain.
Starting from the seven-tier waterfall, you will pass by the Nanmu forest and the suspended plank road, and continue upwards to the high viewing platform. Along the way, there are many famous ancient trees in the mountains, making the scenery pleasant. Like Shiwei Rock, Longwan Lake also has a high-altitude glass viewing platform built on the cliff top, but the U-shaped viewing platform at Longwan Lake extends entirely out of the cliff wall, suspended in the air, far surpassing the thrill of Shiwei Rock. Standing on the viewing platform, you can see a vast sea of trees, and only then do you realize that the plank road you have just walked on is halfway up the opposite cliff, which also looks quite thrilling. Looking down through the glass of the plank road, the feeling of being suspended more than 300 meters above the ground is somewhat terrifying. Of course, this place is also a great spot for taking photos. The viewing platform is the last attraction of the scenic area, and the entire climb takes about 3 hours. You can then walk down the mountain along the descending path, but there are not many sights to see on the way down. If you want excitement and want to save time, you can also take the scenic area’s slide, which can take you all the way down the mountain. Additionally, near the entrance of the scenic area, there are two YanDang Runnan trees; do not miss the opportunity to observe this tree species when you visit Longwan Lake. The park is open from January 1st to December 31st, 08:00-17:00. Parking facilities are available at Longwan Lake National Forest Park Parking, with a reference price of ¥10 per visit. The address is: Entrance of Guo Zhengjiang Forest Farm, Ji Jia Ao He Sheng Village, He Sheng Township, Yongjia County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province; and the parking capacity is 50 spaces.
