The overall structure is built with a mixture of traditional Chinese building materials such as crushed stone, lime, brown sugar, honey, kapok, and fired bricks, creating a solid and sturdy exterior wall. The church bell from Spain and the palanquin for the Virgin Mary, carved by a Fujian artist for processions, are also notable features. The ground is paved with red bricks to match the original style of the church, with white lime plastered on the church walls for clear visibility, making it a local landmark.
