Summer vacation is here! Every year, when summer arrives, the most challenging task for me is to entertain my child. Once school is out, my child stays at home all day and insists that I take her out to play in the water. Considering the hot weather, the risk of sunburn for both of us, and the exhaustion of taking care of a child alone, I was looking for a more relaxed place that could include all the activities that children love. After searching for a long time, Baoyan Paradise turned out to be the best fit for my needs. Baoyan features a massive indoor water park with a constant temperature throughout the four seasons in Shanghai. There’s no need to worry about the weather—great! The ticket includes access to the water park, castle park, and pet park. It’s necessary to book your visit in advance to enter the park. Join me as I explore this place! The flagship store of Baoyan Paradise is located at No. 11, Lane 3825, Dushi Road, Minhang District, accessible by subway or car. After parking the car, we smoothly checked in at the front desk, and each person was given a paper wristband that allows free entry and exit. Jojo was extremely excited even before entering the park; this place is truly a paradise for children, and I was looking forward to a new experience of entertaining my child with both hands free. (The parking lot at the park is free for the first four hours, and after that, it’s charged at 6 yuan per hour.) Five-star indoor water park with a constant temperature (3rd & 4th floors). Summer is all about playing in the water, and I’ve done my homework when bringing Jojo to Baoyan Paradise. Besides various indoor entertainments, there’s a massive indoor water park with a constant temperature of about 37 degrees, clean and comfortable. (For the water park, you need to prepare swimming suits, caps, and towels; if you forget to bring them, they’re available for purchase at the park.) We played after dinner, and Jojo couldn’t wait to play in the water. As soon as we entered, wow! There were many slides for an intimate contact with water. The super-long rainbow slide, along with various shapes, is truly a must-visit spot for influencers. Playing in the water during summer doesn’t have to worry about bad weather; the indoor water park keeps the children happy and the parents more at ease. Jojo and I tried the slide once, which she used to be afraid to try. This time, she really impressed me. Perhaps a child’s growth happens in an instant, on a seemingly insignificant matter. In addition to slides, there are many other things to play in the water park. Adults can also go into the water with their children for parent-child interaction and can play with water guns and friends. Jojo really likes slides, both water and non-water ones. There are several different slides in the children’s area, and she had a great time playing, even asking me to join her.
Unconsciously, the day has passed by more than half, yet she doesn’t feel tired at all. The gentle slides, fountains, and seesaws are more to her liking. We are usually very busy with work and rarely take her out to play. It’s essential to seize the precious family time during the summer vacation and build a bond with the child, so I played with JoJo throughout the whole time, experiencing everything together. I saw many parents in the children’s area, playing with their kids, and when tired, they would sit in the water and chat, making this mode of parenting very comfortable. Regardless of age, every child can find their favorite activities in the water park and suitable scenes for photos, spending an entire afternoon there. Perhaps because I played with JoJo, she was extremely excited. Sometimes she tried to swim on her own, and even if she choked on water, she was very brave. Seeing her smile so happily, I was content. After getting tired, we would relax in the massage pool, lying down for a while. This paradise has truly understood the thoughts of parents, which is why its popularity has always been high! The Fun Slide Park (1st Floor) The entire Baoyan Paradise spans five floors, with a multitude of activities inside. For me, in the summer, not having to be in the sun and being able to stroll with the air conditioning on is truly a blessing. The first floor is the slide park, which JoJo loves to play in. (For the slide park, long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and floor socks are required to prevent scratches and slipping.) Nowadays, many parks have slides, but here there are so many that I can hardly count them, resembling a slide castle. More than a dozen slides of different colors and heights are arranged in order, and JoJo, wearing anti-slip socks, excitedly pulls me towards the starting point of the slide. JoJo actually chose a relatively high slide, which she had never tried before. I felt she was a bit scared, but she overcame her fear and bravely took the first step, which was superb. Some slides are quite high, even with a 90-degree vertical slide, looking very thrilling. Both children of JoJo’s age and older can find their own happiness here. Next to the slides, there is a VR experience area with quite cool lighting effects. Children can sit on it, put on the VR glasses, and start a wonderful experience! The Super Cute Pet Paradise (1st Floor) After playing on the slides, JoJo and I came to the pet paradise located opposite the slide park. That’s right, you heard it correctly, there are various small animals living here, and it’s an indoor pet paradise. After buying grass and carrots that animals love to eat, JoJo carefully fed them one by one (feeding requires small gloves). At first, JoJo was a bit scared of the alpacas, but later the child’s courage grew, and she accepted both larger and smaller animals, feeding them very carefully and responsibly.
The entire pet paradise is home to a variety of animals, including alpacas, rabbits, cats, hedgehogs, and birds. Each area features animals with their names and descriptions, allowing children to learn new knowledge while feeding them. On the second floor, you’ll find the dreamy Naughty Fortress Playground, filled with macaroon-colored ocean balls and a candy castle with various slides. It’s perfect for children of Jojo’s age. My friend and I were pulled into the ocean ball pool by Jojo to play slides and throw balls together. It was incredibly therapeutic, making me feel like I was back in my childhood, with all worries forgotten. When tired, one can rest on the nearby chairs. Jojo can play in the ocean balls for half a day, which is a great relief for parents. There’s also a painting area in the Naughty Fortress where Jojo loves Peppa Pig, so she prepared to paint a colorful Peppa Pig to take home. The staff at Baoyan are very attentive, explaining to Jojo how to paint like a teacher. Look at how seriously Jojo is painting, starting with yellow balloons and then dressing Peppa in blue. I can continue to rest and read my favorite book. It took about half an hour to finish the painting, and the result was quite good. If you don’t like painting, you can also paint such dolls, which helps to cultivate children’s color perception and patience from an early age. After painting, Jojo continued to play. The Naughty Fortress is large, and you can meet many new friends. Nowadays, many children are outgoing and not as shy as we were in our childhood. With ocean balls, trampolines, and various adventure games, this place is really stress-relieving. Nowadays, children generally have to take many classes from a young age, and it’s really suitable to come here for holidays. Next to the Naughty Fortress is the parent-child restaurant. When Jojo is tired from the trampoline and it’s mealtime, you can order various snacks, drinks, and desserts that children like. Even the restaurant’s color scheme is pink and dreamy. After eating and drinking, come to another game area on the second floor. There are many fun experiences here. You need to exchange game coins at the counter to play all the games you like. Bumper cars are free. Children are generally interested in bumper cars and motorcycles, and these two experience projects are very popular, especially among boys who want to play again and again.
In addition, the building block world is also very good. The building blocks here are relatively large, and the venue is also very large. It is an educational project. JoJo is still too young to play, but she watched other elder brothers and sisters play for a long time. JoJo said she wanted me to play with her. So we chose a super fun car that can spray water to put out fires. And if the spraying accuracy is high, there is a reward! Outdoor experience area with large dinosaurs (5th floor). Finally, going up to the fifth floor is the outdoor experience area. Walking up there is like returning to the Jurassic world. Climbing, small trains, pirate ships, etc. are all very suitable for children. There is also grass skiing here. When you come out of the elevator on the fifth floor, there will be a small blackboard with the opening hours. Everyone should check the time in advance and then line up. The carousel is super suitable for little girls. JoJo has already beamed with joy. As an amusement park, Baoyan really has included all experiences. It is also very difficult for you to find a second place where you can easily take your kids out and meet all their needs. What is even more valuable is that during the play process, I also saw the growth of my child and discovered another side of my child. In the future, if I have time, I will definitely bring my child to check in again. [Business hours during summer vacation] (July-August) Weekdays 9:30 – 19:30, weekends 9:30 – 20:30.
