Ningbo Clothing Museum

Yinzhou is the birthplace of the Ningbo business community and also the hometown of ‘Red Gang Clothing’. The Ningbo Clothing Museum is located in Wāndǐ Village, Xiàyīng Street, central Yinzhou District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. It is a large-scale clothing museum themed around the protection and display of the provincial intangible cultural heritage, the Red Gang tailoring skills, and is the first professional clothing museum in China. The museum is a ‘human-shaped’ building with a large sloped roof and a combination of two sloped roofs.

The museum’s main idea is to overcome more than two thousand pieces of Chinese clothing and historical treasures, restore significant historical scenes, interweave the origins of Ningbo clothing, the birth process of another school of Red Gang tailoring, and the historical contribution to the formation and development of modern Chinese clothing. Visitors can gain a deep understanding of the development of Ningbo and Chinese clothing culture here.


The museum is open all year round from 09:00 to 16:00, and from 08:30 to 16:30 (last entry at 16:15), closed on Mondays.
