Qingshan Palace: A Sacred Haven in Mengjia

Established in 1854, Qingshan Palace is dedicated to the worship of the revered Ling’an Zunwang, also known as the King of Qingshan. Legend has it that when fishermen from Hui’an invited the deity to their community, the procession carrying the divine statue came to an abrupt halt in the old street (now known as Xiyuan Road). After consulting the deity through divination, it was revealed that Ling’an Zunwang wished to reside there. Consequently, the faithful built a temple on the old street. At that time, it was believed that praying to Ling’an Zunwang would ensure safety and health, attracting an increasing number of devotees who collectively funded the construction of a new temple, which stands today as the current Qingshan Palace. Inside the palace, there are also statues of Generals Xie Bian’an and Fan Wujiu. It is said that during the night, the sound of their iron chains could be heard echoing through the temple and the streets, or they could be seen patrolling, which deterred thieves in the vicinity. The Qingshan Palace is open to visitors from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM all year round.
