Dragon Ring and Portuguese Rhythm is one of the eight local scenic spots. ‘Dragon Ring’ is the old name for Taipa, and these buildings were completed in 1921, once serving as the official residences of island officials and also as homes for some Macanese families. The local authorities have renovated this group of buildings and turned it into a museum showcasing the architectural features of Portugal. Walking from The Venetian Macao resort to Dragon Ring and Portuguese Rhythm takes about 15-20 minutes. Along the way, you will descend along a slope, and the five mint-green Portuguese-style buildings are very conspicuous; this is the museum of Dragon Ring and Portuguese Rhythm. Three of the buildings are open for visitors, built from west to east as ‘Home of Macanese’, ‘Island Home’, and ‘Portuguese Regional Home’. The other two buildings are ‘Exhibition Hall’ and ‘Guest House’. Home of Macanese: Reflecting the life of Macanese in a grand house. You can see the authentic display, especially the furniture, decorations, and artifacts, all of which come from long-settled local families, with a unique style that combines Chinese and Western elements, along with numerous old photographs covering the entire house. Island Home: The history and religious culture of Macanese in the Taipa area, displaying many photos and cultural relics. You can visit the photo exhibition about Coloane and Taipa, with themes that change periodically. Portuguese Regional Home: The third building is the Portuguese Regional Home, which is divided into two floors, mainly displaying the ethnic costumes, photos, and handicrafts of different regions in Portugal. Through these region-specific garments, you can understand the lifestyle and social customs of Portuguese residents. Exhibition Hall and Guest House: ‘Exhibition Hall’ holds various exhibitions from time to time, while ‘Guest House’ is used for official events. Walking and sitting here allows you to feel a rare tranquility and nature. Walking along the tree-lined paths and large banyan trees on both sides, the environment is very quiet and natural. Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00-19:00 all year round; closed all day on Mondays. ‘Creative Home’ is open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and ‘Guest House’ is not open to the public. The specific business status should be based on the actual opening situation on the day. Must-see tips: The nearby official street is a good place to buy local specialties, and it only takes 5 minutes to walk to the highly praised Little Elephant Portuguese Restaurant.
