Welcome to the Sanya Coral Reef Ecological Research Institute. It is not only the forefront of scientific research related to coral reef ecology, but also an important window for understanding and protecting marine ecology. The Sanya Coral Reef Ecological Research Institute is a new scientific research institution dedicated to promoting the protection of coral reef ecological resources and the sustainable and coordinated development of local economy through scientific research. It is also a coral reef research center supported by three major sections: the Coral Reef Biological Germplasm Research Laboratory, the Marine Ecological Environment Stress Research Laboratory, and the Marine Environment Monitoring Room. The Sanya Coral Reef Ecological Research Institute was established in 2017 and is located in the picturesque Sanya City, Hainan Province. It is one of the first batch of units to enter the Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City and the first batch of laboratories to be put into use. It is located in Building B3, Phase II of China Merchants Science and Technology Innovation Plaza, covering an area of about 2100 square meters. Here, you can observe the wonderful world of coral reefs up close without diving. The huge coral reef aquarium allows you to see Nemo the clownfish in cartoons, as well as his good friend Dory, and a rich variety of corals. You even have the opportunity to feed corals by hand! You will have the opportunity to deeply understand the mysteries of coral reefs, witness the scientific research daily life of researchers with your own eyes, and have the opportunity to participate in it. In addition, there are also science popularization exhibition areas and ecological art exhibitions in the institute. Through vivid models and picture displays, you can more intuitively understand the process of coral reef ecological restoration. At the ecological art-themed exhibition, feel the collision between art and ecology and enjoy the visual feast presented by emerging artists. The Sanya Coral Reef Ecological Research Institute is not only an important base for scientific research and restoration, but also an excellent place to understand and protect marine ecology.
