The Shanghai Botanical Garden is located in the southern part of Shanghai city, near the South Railway Station and South Bus Station. The garden is not far from the city center and is covered with lush greenery, attracting many citizens for daily walks and exercise. Many fishing enthusiasts gather by the river. In summer, visitors can take a walk in the cool bamboo garden or admire the lotus flowers. Autumn offers the chance to appreciate chrysanthemums, red maples in the maple garden, yellow magnolias in the magnolia garden, as well as hawthorns, rhododendrons, and begonias in the rose garden. In winter, visitors can explore the exhibition greenhouse to see a variety of unique tropical plants. In addition to flower viewing, visitors can rent bicycles to ride around the garden or take a boat ride on the river. There is also a children’s playground near Entrance 4, where children can enjoy rides like a small train, carousel, and bumper cars. After visiting the botanical garden, one can visit the famous ancient temple, Longhua Temple, conveniently accessible by taking a transport vehicle from the bus stop outside Entrance 2. The garden is open all year round from 07:00 to 17:00.
