Performance: Spanning generations, eternal values, and ultimate dreams mark a new chapter in Chinese music history, as Wu Bai ushers in a new era of rock music. This is the most powerful original energy, a rock opera created by Wu Bai from his own life experiences, ‘The Path to Success Rock Opera’. Riding the momentum of last year’s rave reviews, Wu Bai brings back the only emotions that can come from him in 2024. The ‘The Path to Success Rock Opera’ premiered in Taipei in 2023, through which Wu Bai looks back on his more than 30 years of rock music journey and creates a rock opera that has never appeared in the Chinese music scene. This is Wu Bai’s music world, where life is lived. Life is filled with love, hope, and courage. Through music and stories, Wu Bai makes the most sincere confession to life, telling the world that life is difficult, but the process can be beautiful. No matter how long the road ahead, as long as one holds on to courage, love, and hope, every step can be taken firmly and steadily. That is why Wu Bai wrote ‘The Path to Success’, a journey of one person chasing dreams, with trials, setbacks, and obstacles along the way, but also with love, hope, and warmth. Life is just like this, and precisely because of this, life is beautiful. After the performance of ‘The Path to Success Rock Opera’ in 2023, it confirmed what Wu Bai once said, ‘If my works are not classics, they will become cult classics.’ He was telling the truth. Through the emergence of ‘The Path to Success’, Wu Bai proved that his works are classics. Classics will be passed down, but they cannot merely be spread by word of mouth. ‘The Path to Success’ will be performed again in 2024, allowing fans to witness once again the brilliance of Wu Bai’s classics. At 25, Wu Bai wrote ‘The Vagrant’s Love Song’, and at 52, he created the rare ‘The Path to Success Rock Opera’ in the Chinese music scene, with the protagonist being a 25-year-old rock guitarist. In 2023, Wu Bai’s concert tour attracted a large number of 25-year-old audience members who came to worship, accounting for two-thirds of the attendees. Although these 25-year-old viewers were not born when Wu Bai debuted in 1990, they know that Wu Bai sings not only love songs but also life! Wu Bai has allowed many audience members to hear about time, love, and themselves, experiencing joy and sadness. They have tasted the essence of life through Wu Bai’s songs. ‘The Path to Success Rock Opera’ is Wu Bai’s first attempt outside of music, using stories to restate the true meaning of life. Wu Bai uses his more than thirty years of music and life journey as a foundation to write ‘The Path to Success’, a journey of pursuing dreams.
Through the dramatic performance, Wu Bai aims to bring the emotions and realities of people chasing their dreams to life. This year, in 2024, Wu Bai’s self-written, directed, and starred ‘Path to Success Rock Opera’ boldly employs a new talent, the 25-year-old independent musician Zhan Yong’an, who will play the lead role of Da A.
