Shipu Town is located in the central coastal area of Zhejiang Province, at the southern end of Xiangshan Peninsula. It is bordered by Xinqiao Town and Dingtang Town to the north; it controls the Sanmen Bay to the west; it faces Hepu Town and Gaotang Town across the harbor to the south; and it is adjacent to the Dayu Ocean and Maoyu Ocean to the east, known as an important town on the central route of Zhejiang Ocean.
Shipu Town is a renowned historical and cultural town in China, one of the six major central fishing ports in the country, a national second-class open port, a comprehensive reform pilot town for small towns in Zhejiang Province, one of the first batch of pilot towns for small city cultivation, and one of the first batch of satellite city construction pilot towns in Ningbo City.
The town is open to visitors all year round, with full-day access.
