The term ‘Silver Bell’ is an ancient place name, reputed to be the location of ‘King Wu’s tomb, with hidden treasures within.’ After the area was dammed to form a pond, it was named accordingly.
Towards the end of spring and the beginning of summer, a vast array of rare ancient rhododendrons bloom competitively, their splendid flowers reflecting in the clear waters, complementing the nearly thousand various koi fish in the pond, creating a significant scenic beauty of Mount Mogan.
The Chinese classical architecture by the pond, with its carved beams and painted rafters, as well as the flying pavilions and flowing red hues, is quite a sight. The water bridges and flowing waters of the Pan Family Garden, along with the winding paths and secluded caves, are also worth visiting.
The pond is open all year round, accessible 24/7.
