Taihu Fairy Island is located within Yuantouzhu. It is an isolated island that requires a boat ride to reach. On the island, there are Taoist fairy palaces and grotto statues of both Taoism and Buddhism. Among them, the 18-meter-tall statue of the Jade Emperor in the Taoist courtyard is eye-catching. Climbing to the top of the small hill on the island allows you to look around. On a clear day, you can see the graceful boat shadows on the lake and feel the vast beauty of Taihu Lake. Taihu Fairy Island is divided into scenic areas such as Blessed Land of Caves and Celestial Capital Fairy Residence. In the middle, there is the Huixian Bridge with simple and dignified appearance and connected pavilions and corridors. Xiyashan to the north of Huixian Bridge is the tourist area of Blessed Land of Caves. There stands the large archway of ‘Taihu Fairy Island’ with exquisite carvings. There is Huaguo Mountain, Shanshiliandong (Mountain Curtain Cave), and a performing arena dedicated to the habitat of monkeys and monkey shows. It is also decorated with ‘Birth of the Divine Monkey’, ‘Banner of the Great Sage Equaling Heaven’, and ‘Stone Stele of Huaguo Mountain’, reproducing the scenes in the famous classical novel ‘Journey to the West’. The main peak is the Celestial Capital Fairy Residence, which houses Tianmen Heavenly Street, Celestial Capital Fairy Residence, Yaowang (God of Medicine), King Wen, God of Wealth Hall, Lingxiao Treasure Pavilion, Peach Blossom Fairy Pond, Yue Lao Shrine, Taiyi Heavenly Altar and so on. The shops on Heavenly Street are lined up in close order and have an antique flavor. The peach-shaped, pomegranate-shaped, gourd-shaped and other carved doors and windows are exquisitely shaped. The main building of Celestial Capital Fairy Residence has three floors and five tiers of eaves, a hip roof, and is 22 meters high. Inside are Wenchang, Guandi, and Mazu temples. On both sides are the Sixty Jiazi Yuan Chen Corridors. Lingxiao Palace has seven floors and four corners, is 38 meters high, and has a statue of the Jade Emperor. Dajue Bay and Immortal Cave gather the grotto art of Chinese Buddhism and Taoism. There are also many scenic spots such as the Sacrificial Altar, Yue Lao Shrine, and Mandarin Duck Pavilion.
