Tongxi Scenic Area is located within Tongpu Township, named after the ancient practice of planting parasol trees along the stream banks. The scenic area mainly consists of three parts: the Lake Heart Island, Longtan, and the Rock Hermitage. Visitors must take a boat to enter the reservoir and visit the three attractions in sequence, hence it is also referred to as a ‘condensed version of Thousand Islands Lake’.
There are not particularly abundant entertainment projects here, but one can enjoy the natural scenery and the bright afternoon sun. Some surrounding tourists will bring their families to vacation here in their leisure time. The boat ticket is included in the scenic area ticket, and you can go to the Lake Heart Island pier first. This is a small island in the lake, not particularly high, and there is nothing special on the mountain. However, there is a lush path laid along the lake, and it is very pleasant to walk along the shade of the trees and enjoy the lake and mountain scenery.
The pier is also the Longtan Scenic Area, where there is a restaurant by the pier. You can order some local dishes such as local chicken and dried tofu, and dine at the stone table. The Longtan Scenic Area is about the valley and stream. In addition to walking along the hiking trail in the valley, you can also take off your shoes and wade in the shallow water by the stream in summer, which is cool and interesting.
