**Introduction**
In the height of July, summer vacation arrives along with the children’s most joyful time. Although Yunbao has not yet started school and does not understand the concept of summer vacation, the sense of ritual during this period cannot be lacking. This time, taking advantage of the summer vacation, we visited the long-anticipated Baoyan Amusement Park in Shanghai. The Baoyan Amusement Park in Shanghai is truly a wonderful and fulfilling family trip. The park is packed with fun and interesting attractions, from the first to the fifth floor, covering an area of about 20,000 square meters, with a variety of entertainment facilities available. On the first floor, there is a cute pet paradise and an exciting slide paradise; on the second floor, there are a naughty castle paradise, a building block world, happy arcade games, mommy’s nail salon, a bakery, and a birthday room, among others; the third and fourth floors are a year-round temperature-controlled water park; the fifth floor features rooftop sliding and a charming carousel. Admission tickets include all three parks, so make sure to book your visit in advance with the park. July is my favorite time in childhood, the first month of the summer vacation is always a time to play freely and happily. I wanted to give Yunbao a happy summer vacation. The Baoyan Amusement Park in Shanghai was a planned destination for our summer family trip. This time, we set off under the scorching sun, driving to the Baoyan Amusement Park, located at No. 11, Lane 3825, Dushi Road, Minhang District, Shanghai, adjacent to the highway entrance, making it very convenient for self-driving. The Baoyan parking lot offers 4 hours of free parking with a ticket, and it’s 6 RMB per hour for every hour exceeding 4 hours. From the appearance of the park’s architecture, one can tell that this place is amazing and fun. Dinosaurs of all sizes are distributed in different parts of the building, some on the wall of the first floor, some next to the windows on the second floor. Yunbao was excited to shout ‘dinosaur’ as soon as he saw them. Entering the park, compared to the high outdoor temperature, it is very cool inside. With the appropriate temperature, we quickly passed the ticket check. The staff will put a wristband on each of us, and with the wristband, we can enter the main park area and the adjacent pet paradise multiple times.
**The Wonderful Parent-Child Journey at Baoyan Amusement Park Begins with the Pet Paradise**
Our wonderful parent-child journey at Baoyan Amusement Park starts with the Pet Paradise, which is our first stop at Baoyan Amusement Park. Upon entering the Pet Paradise, two adorable alpacas catch our eye first. The amiable alpacas are very enthusiastic towards strangers. If interested, you can spend 10 RMB to buy some exclusive alpaca food to feed them. Remember to wear small gloves when interacting with the animals.
Opposite the alpaca area is a very cute rodent area. Inside, there are lovely rabbits and hamsters. The imitation wooden fence is not high. Babies like Yunbao who are over two years old can easily interact with rabbits. Such a design is really considerate. Walking in the park, one can see the attentiveness of the design everywhere. The imitation karst landscape and the imitation wooden environment. Each animal area is carefully designed for animals. For example, in the squirrel area, a super long walking path will be made for squirrels. The moment Yunbao saw the raccoon, she was extremely delighted because this was the first time she had seen this kind of animal. I was also very surprised. Passing through the cute pet area and walking across a wooden trestle bridge, one arrives at Rock Bay. Rock Bay is mainly composed of rocks and water systems. The water tanks and pools are surrounded by huge rocks, and in the water tanks and pools live all kinds of beautiful fish. After admiring the lively fish, one comes to the Paradise of Birds. The Paradise of Birds is a rectangular closed space with branches distributed all around. On the branches stand colorful parrots. In addition to the parrots on the trees, there are also beautiful peacocks on the ground. For this familiar animal, Yunbao is extremely close to them. Passing through the Paradise of Birds, one will come to the last rodent area. Here, all kinds of rodents live. Don’t be afraid when hearing about rodents because these rodents are synonymous with being cute and silly. For example, there are lovely moles or cute marmots. Here, one can also have close ‘contact’ with marmots through the semicircular glass cover. In the face of such strangers, they still look ahead cutely. It’s really too lovely. [Incomparably Wonderful Parent-Child Time is All in the Slide Paradise and Naughty Fort World] Coming to Shanghai Baoyan Paradise, the slide paradise is one of the projects that cannot be missed. It is also the iconic internet-famous project of Baoyan Paradise. On the left side after ticket checking is the slide paradise. However, if you want to experience the slides, it should be noted that you must wear long pants, long shirts and floor socks to prevent skin abrasion due to too fast speed. If you forget, you can buy them in the park. The entire slide paradise has a floor height of nearly 7.3 meters. There are 13 slides of different slopes distributed here, and different slides are of different colors. It can be said to be a real rainbow slideway. Among many slides, the 45-degree blue ocean ball slide and the 90-degree vertical slide are the most popular. There are also some slides with gentle slopes where you can have a lot of fun. [Colorful Naughty Fort Paradise] Take the elevator to the second floor. The second floor is also a paradise for children to play. The experience projects here are more abundant and more suitable for younger children.
Upon entering the Mischievous Castle, shoes must be removed and can be securely stored for free in lockers, a very considerate service. Additionally, visitors are required to wear socks suitable for the floor. The vast pool of ocean balls, stretching as far as the eye can see in yellow and white, immediately entices Yunbao to run in and start playing. Inside the Mischievous Castle, there are not only countless ocean balls but also a variety of rich entertainment projects, such as slides of different shapes, climbing nets, and light and shadow magic balls… Here, parents can truly free their hands and watch their children play happily from the side, as the numerous ocean balls and all facilities are padded for collision protection, ensuring safety and care. In the Mischievous Castle, there is also a yellow and blue castle-shaped structure, which is an excellent spot for taking photos. Besides these attractions, the castle also features a children’s rock climbing wall. Although Yunbao is not yet three years old, he watches the older children climb with envy and attempts to climb on his own. With my help, to my surprise, he was able to stand up by himself. It is important to note that supervision is recommended for children participating in the rock climbing activity to prevent any incidents. The extra-large climbing net is something Yunbao has never seen before in other children’s parks. The nets of various shapes and difficulties are also a training for children’s strength and courage. Watching Yunbao struggle to climb inside, the pride felt is unparalleled. Adjacent to the Mischievous Castle is the trampoline park, which consists of eight trampolines surrounded by high protective nets, a testament to Baoyan Park’s dedication to children’s safety. This is not Yunbao’s first time on a trampoline, but it is her best and most enjoyable experience, as if she has found the knack and joy of trampolining. In the middle of the second floor is the Baoyan Parent-Child Restaurant, where one can taste delicious parent-child meals after tiring play, replenishing energy for the children to continue their fun. The restaurant’s style is very cute, with white and pink as the main colors, creating a bright and clean dining environment. While waiting for the meal, one can also visit the parent-child handicraft area next door to experience the fun of DIY with children. At the far end of the second floor is the amusement area, which boasts a rich array of amusement facilities, from common carousels, rocking cars, small trains, and claw machines in amusement parks, to the block world. Blocks have always been uniquely attractive to children, as they use blocks to represent all the beautiful imaginations of the world, which is also the best place for parents to understand their children.
【All-Season Constant Temperature Water Park for a Refreshing Journey】If there is one must-visit attraction during the summer, it is undoubtedly a water park. However, the scorching heat of summer can make outdoor water parks unbearable. Fortunately, on the 3rd and 4th floors of Baoyan Amusement Park in Shanghai, there is an indoor constant temperature water park with water temperatures around 37 degrees Celsius and clean water quality. Here, regardless of the season or weather, visitors can enjoy a delightful water play experience. Upon exiting the elevator, you enter the retail area of the water park, which primarily sells items needed for water park visits, such as swimsuits, swimming rings, water guns, and more. To my pleasant surprise, the swimsuit styles are not only diverse but also very aesthetically pleasing. Those who forgot to prepare their water play equipment can purchase them directly here. Additionally, there is a thoughtful design that my wife and I both find excellent: the family-friendly changing and shower rooms. With a separate entrance, the whole family can enter together, and the changing and shower rooms are spacious enough for three people, eliminating the chaos of one person trying to manage a child in the changing rooms. Upon entering the water park, the first thing that catches your eye is the large slide area. Watching people slide down from the top and seeing their ‘fierce’ expressions, you can feel the thrill of the moment. In the large slide area, there is a 5-meter high and 32-meter long rainbow slide, as well as dozens of slides of varying lengths suitable for children. Visitors of all age groups can experience the joy of the water park here. Arriving at the children’s water play area, you will find various marine animal figures standing in the pool, such as starfish, clownfish, and crabs. Of course, children do not have to look up to see them; the amusement park is filled with their presence, such as the turtle lying in the water next to it, the water-spouting apple, or the slide shaped like a frog. This is very attractive for children who love animals. Cloud Baby has always been a very contradictory child, always curious about new things but lacking the courage to try them alone. Therefore, she has always asked my wife and me to accompany her in experiencing many attractions. For example, the cute frog slide, where you slide out from the frog’s mouth and down its enormous tongue into the water, is a very thrilling experience for Cloud Baby. Children love to play with water; it is an innate interest, regardless of gender or age, and Cloud Baby is no exception. In the children’s water play area, every spot becomes her playground, and she can find her happiness everywhere.
The children’s play area in the water park is still very large. It is distributed in a U shape along the slide area. Here there are also water slides suitable for children with gentle slopes and short lengths. Holding Yunbao and sliding down from above, Yunbao was so happy that she finally lay directly on me. Adjacent to the children’s play area is the children’s swimming pool. Many children will come here to swim. Yunbao, who loves playing with water, naturally cannot miss it. We will always take her swimming frequently. From being at a loss at the beginning to gradually being able to lift her head and kick the water with her feet now. For us, this is the greatest achievement of playing with water in addition to happiness. [Outdoor Paradise, Shanghai Baoyan Paradise, There Is Much More Than This]. In Shanghai Baoyan Paradise, there is much more than this. Bringing Yunbao to play from the first floor to the fourth floor, we left the outdoor area on the roof of the fifth floor for last. After all, playing under the scorching sun in July still requires a little courage. It is best to come here to play in the evening. Taking the elevator to the fifth floor, the first thing that catches the eye is Brave Jurassic. Here you will encounter various dinosaur models. They are not only lifelike in shape but also have many skills, such as shaking heads, wagging tails, biting, and roaring… Adjacent to Brave Jurassic are the carousel and small pirate ship. In people’s impression, the carousel is romantic, but here the carousel is more appropriately described as cute. The carousel with the theme of the Madagascar movie. Here the wooden horses have become zebras with open mouths, lovely monkeys, and giraffes with crooked necks. There are also seats for children. There are cute moles everywhere around the seats. As soon as Yunbao saw it, she immediately sat on it. Every child has a dream of flying, and flying a plane in the sky is just an unreachable dream for children. On the roof of the fifth floor of Baoyan Paradise, there is a large roof grass skiing experience area like a mountain. Sitting on the grass skiing cart and sliding down rapidly against the wind. At that moment, happiness is overflowing on the children’s smiling faces. In addition to these, on the roof area of the fifth floor, you can also experience outdoor small trains, horseback riding, outdoor climbing nets and other projects. [Paradise Food Chapter]. Coming to Shanghai Baoyan Paradise, you can bring Yunbao to play here all day. Inside the paradise, there are many restaurants for us to choose to eat and replenish energy. For example, the Baoyan Seafood Factory Restaurant on the first floor, the Baoyan Paradise Parent-Child Restaurant on the second floor, and there is also a restaurant in the water park. The dishes in the restaurant are also very rich, including seafood, Western food, Chinese food, and fast food. We chose to eat at the Baoyan Seafood Factory Restaurant on the first floor. The restaurant is next to the front desk of Baoyan Paradise. A huge bear in front of the restaurant is very eye-catching.
This restaurant primarily specializes in seafood, which is selected on-site from tanks, weighed immediately, and prepared in a visible kitchen. Customers need not worry about being overcharged. Coincidentally, we encountered a flash sale套餐 when visiting the restaurant, where a spicy abalone stir-fry with salt and pepper dragon head prawns was available for only 53 yuan, an exceptionally good deal for a scenic area. The salt and pepper dragon head prawns is a highly recommended dish, truly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a perfect balance of saltiness and crispness. The fish meat is also tender and garlicky. The ‘Hometown of Fish and Rice’ is a dish very suitable for children, with a rich variety of ingredients including cucumber, carrot, corn kernels, and fish meat, all diced and stir-fried together, creating a sweet and refreshing taste. The spicy stir-fried small abalones are a perfect accompaniment to rice, served with a fragrant aroma, using 10 abalones per portion, which are very fresh with a chewy texture.
