Wenbi Peak is located in the central part of Ding’an County, Hainan Province, known for its beautiful mountain scenery and lush vegetation. It is also a famous Daoist cultural tourism area. Bai Yuchan, the founder of the Southern School of Daoism and one of the Five Ancestors, chose to retreat here. Numerous Daoist temples are distributed along the mountain, including Yuchan Pavilion, God of Wealth Hall, and Wenchang Pavilion. The movie ‘Private Customization’ also filmed scenes here.
Wenbi Peak is not very high, and the scenic area is equipped with sightseeing vehicles, which can be chosen according to one’s physical strength and time. On the way up the mountain, Daoist cultural symbols can be seen everywhere, such as the majestic Yuchan Palace, the stone carving of the Eight Immortals Celebrating Longevity, and the richly symbolic Daoist murals. Each place is worth taking time to appreciate.
In addition to Daoist culture, there is also an indissoluble connection with Pangu culture. It is said that Wenbi Peak was the first mountain to appear after Pangu opened up the world, formed from Pangu’s nasal bridge, and has become a place of auspiciousness by absorbing the essence of heaven and earth. The scenic area is open all year round from 08:00 to 18:00. Preferential policies: Children under 1.2 meters (not included) are free; those between 1.2 meters (included) and 1.4 meters (not included) receive discounts. Elderly people aged 70 (included) and above with an elderly card or ID card are free; those aged 60 (included) to 69 (included) with an ID card receive discounts. People with disabilities with a disability card are free. Active duty soldiers, disabled soldiers, and retired soldiers with valid documents are free. Policemen with a police card are free. Students with a student card (full-time college and university students, excluding adult education graduate students) receive discounts.
