The Xihai Grand Canyon cable car in Huangshan is located within the valley of the Xihai Grand Canyon, reaching the Tianhai scenic area at the top and connecting to the Pa Yun Creek station at the bottom. The cable car spans a length of 892 meters with an average gradient of 34 degrees, taking approximately 8 minutes for a one-way trip.
The sightseeing cable cars operate in opposite directions, passing each other at the central arc position at the middle station of the track. The transparent glass cabins offer a panoramic view of the surrounding scenery. As the cable car glides through the sea of clouds, passengers can enjoy the peculiar landscapes of the Nine Dragon Peak, the Divine Dragon Gathering Herbs, and the Huizhou Woman. Starting from the valley bottom allows for an awe-inspiring view of the towering cliffs. The pristine ecological wonders of peculiar pines and grotesque rocks, the majestic cliffs, and the imposing mountain ranges are all visible within just a few minutes.
Recommended routes: Both of the following options take approximately 2.5 hours. 1. Pa Yun Pavilion – First Ring – Second Ring – Pa Yun Creek Station – Tianhai Station – Baiyun Hotel. Start at Pa Yun Pavilion, walk through the First and Second Rings down to Pa Yun Creek Station, which takes about 2 hours on foot. Then, take the cable car to Tianhai Station and walk to Baiyun Hotel to continue the journey. 2. Baiyun Hotel – Tianhai Station – Pa Yun Creek Station – Second Ring – First Ring – Pa Yun Pavilion. This route is suitable for those who enter the mountain from Ci Guang Pavilion, as it is more convenient. The cable car operates all year round from 08:00 to 17:00.
