Yuezhou Tianhu Lake has clear water and a vast expanse of misty waves. The mountains in the distance and near are green and blackish. The lychee and mango orchards around the lake have reached a certain scale. It is not only a newly developed lychee and longan production and freshwater fish and shrimp breeding base in Pubei County, but also a great place for people to travel and relax. There are natural scenic spots such as Xianhe Island, Dongpo Ferry, Fubo Beach, Wangfuling, Qingzhuo Lake, Duige Slope, and Sandi Temple. Tens of thousands of white cranes inhabit Xianhe Island. There are also human landscapes such as the large aqueduct of Tianhu Lake and the former residence of General Xiang Hanping. The architectural art of the former residence combines Chinese and Western elements. Pavilions and towers are built along the mountains and by the water. 6 kilometers away from Xiang Hanping’s former residence is Yangtian Lake in Shizhen. This is the ancient city of Yuezhou with a history of more than 1,500 years. According to historical records, during the Southern Dynasties, Yuezhou’s jurisdiction extended east to Maoming, Guangdong, south to all of Leizhou Peninsula, west to border Qinzhou, and north to around Rongxian. It was a provincial-level military and administrative unit equivalent to Guangzhou at that time. Yuezhou Tianhu Lake is endowed with unique advantages.
