Zhonghua Filial Piety Park, also known as the Cao E Scenic Area, is located at the foot of Phoenix Mountain in the southwest of Shangyu city, covering an area of 37.5 hectares. It is the core area of the Cao E River Provincial Scenic Spot.
The scenic area is themed around ‘filial piety culture’, drawing on the ancient sage Yu Shun, known for ‘filial piety moving heaven and earth’, and Cao E, a filial daughter from the Eastern Han Dynasty who ‘jumped into the river to save her father’. By excavating the cultures of Yu Shun, filial piety, Buddhism, and folklore, the area showcases the long-standing cultural history of Shangyu and carries forward the spirit of filial piety that has inspired the Chinese nation for thousands of years.
